2023 Kayak Fishing World Championship
Kayak fishing teams from 12 countries competed for the title of World Champion at the 2nd FIPSED World Kayak Fishing Championship this June 6-11, 2023. The event was held on Center Hill Lake near Cookeville, TN. The anglers were challenged with catching the longest smallmouth, spotted and largemouth bass (in a combined 5 fish limit). The USA Kayak Fishing team came in as the heavy favorites to win and they delivered in grand fashion. The team took home the Nations Gold and each of the Individual medals as well. Team Canada took home the Silver and Team England the Bronze. “This team really embraced our goals of competitive excellence and USAngling national ambassadors,” says USAngling Freshwater Sports Director Mike McNett.“We expect our athletes to be more than just good anglers and this group of 2023 USA Kayak Fishing was outstanding. We are confident that our kayak fishing program is heading in the right direction."
